District 4 Talk Week 9

Selinsgrove

Quarterback Cory Briggs accounted for five touchdowns against Jersey Shore, three on the ground and two through the air as the Seals won in convincing fashion 55-7. This was the 36th consecutive win at home for the Seals.

Kyle Reinard rushed for 148 yards on 11 carries and he added a 44-yard touchdown run.

Selinsgrove (9-0) travels to Montoursville.

Towanda

Towanda’s 24-21 overtime win against Loyalsock Township clinches the number one seed for the Black Knights in the District 4 AA playoffs.

Running back Travis Chesla rushed for 182 yards on 30 carries.

Towanda (9-0) hosts Wyalusing Valley next Friday.

Danville

Mikeal Owens-Wright hit a wide-open Alex Vitunac for a 36-yard touchdown with 4:33 to give the Ironmen the 14-7 win over Montoursville.

Danville’s duo of Owens-Wright and Russell Heath combined for 160 yards on 30 carries.

The Ironmen defense has allowed just 24 points in the last five games since their week four loss to Selinsgrove.

They held Montoursville’s offense to 148 yards and their passing game to 5 of 20 attempts.

Danville (7-2) travels to Jersey Shore.

Hughesville

It took only 15 seconds in the game for Hughesville to score a touchdown. Levi Oden went 47-yards for the score. The Spartans scored five more times in a 42-6 win over South Williamsport.

With the win they gave themselves at least a share of the Heartland Division III league title.

Cody Butler rushed for 184 yards on 11 carries and two touchdowns. Butler’s longest touchdown run was 71-yards.

Hughesville (8-1) hosts Muncy.
