PHILADELPHIA: Standing alone the sidelines along Germantown’s Benjamin L. Johnson Memorial Stadium one could not help but to wonder could Cardinal O’Hara Jr RB Corey Brown could repeat his performance from a week ago in which he rushed for 173 yards on 9 carries and 3 total touchdowns. This week all he did was rush for 130 yards 7 carries and 2 receiving touchdowns leading O’Hara to the 47-6 victory over Germantown High School in a Non league contest

Brown wasted little time on answering the question has on the first play of the game Brown got the Bears defense and was off to races for a 62 yard touchdown. The extra point was good giving the Lions the 7-0 lead.

On the ensuing kickoff the Bears couldn’t come up with a wobbly kick by Evan Higgins which was fallen on by Sr Bobby Demaio at the Bears 5 yard line. On the next play Brown would again find the end zone this time he was on the receiving end of a beautifully thrown ball by Tom Savage for the 5 yard touchdown.

The Lions were just warming up as two possessions later the Lions would show the quick strike capability when Savage would hit the speedy Billy Morgon for a 35 yard touchdown.

Brown would show his speed again in the first quarter when he took advantage of some good blocking by his lineman to break free a 55 yard touchdown. Putting the Lions up by a score of 28-0 at end of the first quarter. After the game Brown gave his line praise by saying “They did a tremendous job opening holes we could had driven a truck through them”

Midway through the second quarter Brown would show his fancy foot work has he picked Ramadan Abdullah pass and got his feet in the end zone for touchback. On the ensuing drive the Lions would go 80 yards 7 plays highlighted by Evan Higgins 34 yard run, but it would Brown that would again be a target for a Savage touchdown pass. Brown and Savage would hook up one more time in the second game.

After the game O’Hara Head Coach gave praise to Brown by saying “He has a special talent”

  1. Greg Pinciotti says:

I want to state that the new sophomore outside linerbacker, Drew Formica, was awesome. This is a real future talent for O’hara. Joe Pa should have his eye on this kid.
