Coach’s Comment: Jay is a playmaker who has knack for finding the endzone in big spots. He has been starting since a few games into his freshman season on offense and has gained a lot of experience running a diverse route tree. He has the speed and vertical to go over the top for jump balls, as well as the ability to break a DB down with a well-run route. HE is often double-teamed, but finds other ways to contribute to our offense. His blocking has gotten better each season and this has required him to gain more football IQ to identify these situations. He is also dynamic returning kicks. Although people usually punted away from him, he made the most of his opportunities. He returned three punts over 30 yards v Midd-West. he also managed 4 of his 8 kick returns to be over 30 yards.

He is a willing tackler in the run game, and has good ball skills. He rotated between safety and corner for us, so he has good variability in the defensive backfield. He has an innate ability to poke the ball out and force fumbles.
