Outside of Clairton, in the west, I think Old Forge was the best team SCA faced in the playoffs last year. If Old Forge has most of their guys coming back, they will be tough to beat. They were very fast and almost caught SCA off guard and pulled out a win. Pius lost their QB to transfer so I don’t think they will be anywhere near as good as last year. We will find out in week 1 when SCA travels to Pius. I see SCA losing 2 games in the regular season possibly. I do agree that they may be knocked out in the first round depending on how good the D2 team is. Recently the D2 team has been the team to knock out SCA, which always happens to be the first state game. It is July so we have to wait until the season starts.

You can pretty much count on the Tigers winning the D4 title under Jim Roth. They play a much easier schedule this year, so basically they will have 7 or 8 regular season games that all they will need to do is get off the bus to win. I think a realistic prediction this year would be the tigers going 10-3 with a first round exit in the State Playoffs. The Tigers have good players this year, but I think they lost there best player at every position not including special teams…There best players last year were:

QB: Brad Fegley
RB: Matt Moore
FB: Tyler Levan
WR: Keith Day
OL: Bryan Gedman

DE: Matt Moore
DT: Tom Schetroma
LB: Brad Fegley
DB: Keith Day

The only position the Tigers will be better at this year is P & TE because Jake Becker returns with more experience. The same w/ K Dylan Swank.

Guys like Feudale, Parry, Kleman, Young, Cherwinski, Tripp, Rarig & Lupold are going to have to really step it up this season because they are taking over at positions that I don’t think any one can expect them to perform better at then the guys did last season, but they can definitely do good jobs none the less.
