How’s your offensive line?
“We only return two starters from last year on the offensive line. We have our left tackle back, Colin Raysor. Titus Richards is back at left guard. We are rotating our centers between Garrett Muroski and Andrew Diegenio. We are going to rotate the other guard spot with Daniel Glass and Jevone Norman. Our right tackle is Dave Thomas. This is one of the deepest offensive lines we have had.”
“We have our tight end back Tyler Burke. He is a three-year starter, is a great blocker and has great hands. He is going to be a huge part of our passing game this year.”
Who will be your quarterback this year?
“We had a battle at the quarterback spot this summer between Junior Sami Warren and Sophomore Jordan Young. We are going to start Jordan. But both he and Sami will get playing time this year for us.”
How’s your running game look?
“We return our leading rusher from last year. He is Daquan Worley. He is a Penn State recruit. He’s a physical runner and gets stronger as the games goes. He plays a lot bigger than he is. He proved that in the playoffs. We also have our second string running back from last year back. He is Isaih Flamer. We have another guy Jalen Hudson. He will be a slot receiver and at times he will be a runner.”
Note: Worley rushed for 1,779 yards on 228 carries and 20 touchdowns.
Who are your receivers?
“We have Jay Stocker back at receiver. Jalen Hudson will be at slot receiver for us. Jimmy Clark and Ricky Southcott will battle for playing time. Keenan Coleman will be in the mix.”
How’s your defensive line?
“We have Mike Boykin back at defensive tackle. Titus Richards is back on the line. Steven Jacks will play inside on the line. Derrick Muroski is going to play defensive end for us. Daniel Glass is one guy that has been in the rotation. He will be a tackle. Jevon Norman will be in the mix.”
How do your linebackers look?
“We have all three linebackers back. We will start with Tyler Burke. He is a three-year starter and committed to Maryland. He is a guy that is all around the ball. He has a nose for the ball and he’s our leading tackler the last two years. He is a special player. Devonte Suber and Steven Pawling are the other two linebackers back from last year.”
Note: Burke was a key player on the Red Raiders last year. He helped his team advance to the PIAA Class 4A State Championship game last year. He had 18 total tackles and two fumble recoveries in that game.
How’s your secondary?
“We have a lot of experience coming back in the secondary. We have Daquan Worley back. He is a three-year starter. He is a great cover corner. Not may teams throw the ball his way. He is aggressive with the run game when he needs to be. His biggest intangible is his team leadership. We have Jay Stocker back at free safety and Isaih Flamer back. We have a transfer from North Carolina. His name is Ahkema Evans. He started down there as a sophomore. Daniel Ahara will play some safety. Stan Woodard will add depth to the secondary.”
Note: Worley had 45 tackles and three interceptions last year.
What are your strengths this year?
“Our strength on the team starts on defense. We have eight returning players from last year’s team. On offense our strength is the running game. We have a lot of guys that have experience from last year’s team. But, we had to replace some guys. We had a chance to play a lot of young guys last year. We have a lot of guys waiting there turn. So, its their time for them to step up.”
What is different about this team compared to last year?
“We aren’t going to be a high flying team like last year. We are real excited about our team. It’s going to be a different style team. We are going to be bigger up front this year. We are going to run the ball with the backs we have and rely on a great defense. One thing for sure we are going to work hard.”

Nicely written article. Coatesville opened up it’s season Friday night @ William Penn (York) in a return home for Coach Ortega & from what I saw this is right on the money. The Red Raiders romped W Penn 42-7. CV racked up 302 on the ground led by PSU Recruit RB/CB Dequan Worley with 160 yards & 3 TDs (42,42,10) all in the first half. Jr RB Jalen Hudson had 7 for 67 including a 27 yarder early 3rd quarter scamper for the score. Isaiah Flamer had 6 for 40. Soph. QB Jordan Young took over the Raider attack in his 1st varsity action @ the Red Raider 3 yard line. With a healthy dose of quick passes mixed with Worley runs led the Raiders on a 97 yard TD Drive capped by Young’s 19 yard toss to Maryland Recruit Tyler Burke & put the Raiders up 7 nothing. Defensively the Red Raiders were downright dominate only giving up 12 1st half yards. Tyler Burke was around the ball as usual & had a big 3rd down sack to force a 3 & out. Sr. LB Devonte Suber led CV with 2 sacks 1 off the corner blind side that rocked the stadium. Jay Stocker had a big 1st half interception as well as another by the backup lb. Worley held Penn held Penn leading receiver without a catch. The starters called it a night leading 35-0 @ half with Jordan Young’s 4 yard TD to Jimmy Carter giving him 11 /14 for around 100 yards 2 TDs no turnovers. CV reserves played the entire 2nd half against Penn Starters & pushed the Mercy rule on Hudson’s 3rd qt. score. Penn had a drive & score on a 5 yard pass with a little more than 2 minutes on the clock.
