Santa,

I hate to burst your bubble but Southern isn't actually 2-0. They were SCRIMMAGES as the article clearly states. This mean that they DON'T COUNT! It was just explains how the teams faired in the PRE-SEASON when they matched up the past two weeks. Don't worry, your Lancers have the same record as the Tigers right now. They are both 0-0...

I don't think that they could match up with Southern's weapons however. They could potentially best Montoursville. I also highly doubt that a team like Loyalsock who isn't a state-power has seven D1 prospects. I'd also be willing to go as far as saying that they probably haven't had seven D1 prospects play at D1 schools in the past 30 years yet alone on the same roster! I think you are a dreamer Santa. That must go with your name on here!!!

Great in depth look at Southern Area. Almost as impressive as their state championships, is the fact that every Tiger for over 2 decades has experienced a state playoff victory. I'm not a math major, but I think it is safe to say that all of the current players weren't even born before when this streak started. They can certainly use this as motivation as the school's seasons came to an a lot earlier than many people around the state thought it would. Since that 2011 state title appearance, all of the teams since have under-achieved in the playoffs.

Southern's best chance to make a deep run this year is to get back to the ground and pound mentality that has gotten them so much success in the previous years. The more they run the ball, the more successful they become. I wouldn't completely take the ball out of the QB's hands but the threats this year are in the backfield for sure.

congrates to southern on there 2-0 start. loyalsock and there 7 division 1 prospects should be a great game. good thing for southern they have 2 wins under there belt before the season actually starts. that should give them an unfair advantage come seeding time for points
