Phoenixville does not have an option (nor Spring-Ford for that matter). Pottsgrove has been in this same situation 4 or 5 times before and has had to play. When Pius X-Pottstown closed, PJP II and Pottsgrove did not renew the Thanksgiving game.

Incidentally, the Spring-Ford/Phoenixville game is no longer Thanksgiving at 10am. Now its Wed, 11/23 at 7pm. This was reported in the Pottstown Mercury Monday (I think).

I remember back in 2007 when Pottsgrove played their Turkey day game 2 days before their District One Championship Game against Garnet Valley. I know it’s tradition, but some school’s need to get their priorities straight!!
