Starting experience: He has played quarterback since his sophomore year. He played a little varsity his freshman year.

2013 Stats: He passed for 686 yards on 40 of 83 passes and four touchdowns. He rushed for 645 yards and three touchdowns

Honors: 2nd Team WVC Big School as a athlete

Q. What kind of leader is he?

A. He’s very versatile and he is a competitor. His leadership came to light in his junior year. He has great leadership traits and it’s his work ethic that a lot of kids really look up to. He has a great attitude and is focused on goals.

Another thing I like about him is, he always can improve and he works hard at getting better.

 

Q. What are his strengths at quarterback?

A. Jay is a big physical player. He has great arm strength and a quick release and can run the ball. He stays compact in his throwing motion. He has great feet. He’s always getting his feet set and is always balanced. He does a lot of little things and is fundamentally sound.
