Utah Bound Jeff Tuttle paces Mission Hills in win over previously undefeated Carlsbad

Carlsbad High School-Carlsbad, CA-Friday, September 15, 2017-In a key Avocado League contest in a battle of undefeated teams that was held at Carlsbad High School, the Mission Hills Grizzlies known for outstanding football players but this time it was again quarterback Jack Tuttle (13 completions out of 23 attempts for 169 yards) amazed the crowd with his Rich Gannon style of passing, running and good plays threw 3 touchdown passes of 31 yards to Chris Olave (4 rec for 95 yards), 7 yards to Damon Wigand and 37 yards to Maurice Jones (6 receptions for 65 yards) defeated the previously undefeated Carlsbad Lancers by a 35-7 score.

Damon Wigand (13 carries for 75 yards) scored on a 7 yard run and Maurice Jones (1 carry for 33 yards) scored on a 33 yard run.

The Lancers of Carlsbad scored their only touchdown as qb Troy Bloomquist 18 completions out of 28 attempts for 133 yards threw a 5 yard pass to Noah Vella.

Chris Hauser Head Football Coach at Mission Hills: ” Our squad did well today as we had a lot of guys that had a lot of touches of the ball as in Maurice Jones, Damon Wigand, coming out of the backfield and making outstanding catches on the field but today where most of the attention goes out to Chris Olave but other ball players we are starting to grow as a team since we are 4-0 but focus on 1 game at a time.”

Jeff Tuttle qb for Mission Hills: “Our fans have been very supporting of us throughout the season and I have to deal with adversity aches, pains and sores but you have to overcome those issues.”

“Our squad did very well tonight, personaIly I feel that I need to be a more consistant in my gameplan I have to work on every single drive, to get the first down along with moving the ball, those are the skills that I have to keep on working my skills in practice to improve every game.” said Jeff Tuttle.

“For the 2 touchdown passes that I threw, the receivers made good plays and to give credit to our offensive line they all did well they read my reads well and threw the ball for touchdowns.”

With the win the Grizzlies of Mission Hills improve to 4-0 and will host the Pirates of Oceanside High School, while the Lancers of Carlsbad fall to 3-1 and will be at Lacosta Canyon High School kickoff for both games at 7:00 pm will on Friday, September 22, 2017
