High School Football recaps for 9-16-17

Vince Smith’s 114 yards rushing and 3 touchdown runs of 9, 32 and 45 yards to pace the Green Knights of Mt. Pleasant Green Knights to a 42-0 win over the Rams of Dickinson.

David DeWees’s 2 touchdown runs of 56 and 19 yards as he rushed for 71 yards paced the Auks of Archmere to a 21-7 win over the Red Wolves of Conrad. Connor Ruggeri also scored the other touchdown for the Auks for 3 yarder as carried the ball 16 times for 116 yards.

Garnett Taylor’s 3 touchdown runs of 15, 11 and 76 yards along with qb Jack Russell’s pass of 49 yards to Michael Raymon and an 8 yarder to Tremayne Pinckney paced the Bulldogs of Brandywine to a 46-6 win over the Vikings of Christiana.

Hodgson Silver Eagles defeated Howard HS of Technology Saturday morning 47-12. Hodgson was lead by a strong running game. Darius Hale had three rushing scores, while Sea’Queris Wiggins and Nahzir Billops each rushed for two scores.

Shane Phipps threw 2 touchdown passes both to Joe Scott-Thomas to help Appoquinimink defeat Delcaslte 39-0. Phipps finished the day with 174 yards passing. 126 of those yards were to Scott-Thomas. On the ground Derek Thompson rushed for 3 Touchdowns. The Jaguar Defense held Delcastle to only 51 yards of offense.
