fleetwood_aIn his first year as a starting quarterback, the sophomore put up 321 yards passing and four touchdowns, which is a very good night by any quarterbacks standards.

“His vision down field is amazing for being just a sophomore,” said head football coach Sean Gaul. “He’s fast and very strong and is always under control.”

Luke Emge also rushed for 227 yards on 21 carries and one touchdown that night against Conrad Weiser, which is a very good numbers for a rusher in one game.

“If Luke needs to make a play on the ground he will and did that in the Weiser game.”

When Luke looks to air it out he has two of the top receivers in Berks county. Michael Wilkinson has caught 15 passes for 292 yards and Tyler Strunk has caught 15 passes for 282 yards.

“He has trust in his wide receivers and has two of the best wide receivers in Berks county statistically right now. He has plenty of faith in his wide receivers if he has to make the throw.”

When you add the total of 548 total yards of offense and five touchdowns, you are now talking about a special night.

“Luke is a tremendous athlete. He does things you simply can’t teach. He is so mature for being so young. Even though he is a sophomore, a lot of kids look up to him.”

Last year he was Fleetwood’s free safety as a freshman and this year. On the defensive side he had a interception.

“He did a nice job covering their top receiver. Luke is a very good safety and is always around the ball.”

We congratulate Luke as our Week 3 Offensive Player of the Week
