Delaware Valley Charter WR Brad Wilson receiving D-1 attention
Written by: Josh Funk on Sunday, July 11th, 2010One of the Philadelphia Public League’s top returning receivers (statistically speaking) has been generating some Division-1 interest.
Brad Wilson, a 5’10, 173-pound receiver from Delaware Valley Charter, has received interest, but no scholarship offers, from four Division-1 programs – Cincinnati, Ohio State, Penn State and Temple – according to his profile on Scout.com.
Wilson was all over the place for the Warriors last season – he finished as the team’s leading receiver and leader in interceptions. Wilson caught 21 passes for 626 yards (29.8 yds./rec.) and scored 13 touchdowns. He scored at least one touchdown in 10 of the Warriors’ 11 games last year; he was held scoreless only during a 27-20 Week 2 loss to Episcopal Academy.
He also led the Warriors in interceptions, with four. That accounted for 36.3 percent of the Warriors’ season interception total as a team.
Delaware Valley finished 8-3 last year, averaging over 33.6 points per game and finishing as the top-scoring Public League team in terms of points-per-game average, regardless of classification. The orange and black reached or topped the 50-point mark in four of their 11 games.
