Cumberland Valley’s Kevin Snyder up to 4 D-1 offers
Written by: Josh Funk on Monday, May 17th, 2010Cumberland Valley’s Kevin Snyder had a fantastic all-around season for the Eagles in 2009. Snyder is also a potential Division-1 prospect.
Cumberland Valley’s best returning all-around athlete is up to four Division-1 offers, according to his profile on Rivals.com. Army, Iowa, Rutgers and West Virginia have all offered Snyder a scholarship, and UCONN, Northwestern, Pitt and Syracuse are showing interest in the 6’2, 210-pound prospect.
How varied was Snyder’s role for the Eagles last season? He finished with 1,341 rushing yards (which led the team) and 22 touchdowns; caught 28 passes for 634 yards and six additional touchdowns; and added 109 tackles (49 solo), three interceptions and four forced fumbles on defense.
Snyder surpassed 100+ rushing yards in a game seven times; had five games of 75+ receiving (he did not have any 100-yard receiving games in ’09); and had three games of 10+ tackles.
Cumberland Valley won its 11th District 3 football championship last season (9th in “AAAA”) and reached the PIAA “AAAA” semifinals, falling to State College Area, 35-13.
As a side note, the Eagles averaged over 36 points per game and set a school record for points scored in a season (542). Snyder scored 170 of those points, or 31.3 percent of the team’s output.
