Avon Grove FB Brendan McLaughlin generating D-1 interest

One of Avon Grove’s top returning players is also a potential Division-1 prospect.
Brendan McLaughlin, a 6’0, 205-pound senior-to-be, has generated interest, but no offers, from four Division-1 programs, according to his profile on Rivals.com. Cincinnati, Michigan State, North Carolina State and Notre Dame have shown interest in McLaughlin.
McLaughlin was one of three Avon Grove backs to surpass 1,000 yards rushing last year – the fourth 1,000-yard backfield trio in Pennsylvania since 2005. McLaughlin led the Red Devils in rushing attempts (196) and rushing yards (1,260) last year. He scored 13 rushing touchdowns and added eight receptions for 148 yards and an additional touchdown as a receiver. McLaughlin averaged 6.43 yards per carry and 18.5 yards per reception.
McLaughlin ran for 100+ yards in a game seven times last season, including a stretch of six straight weeks from the beginning of October to middle of November.
Defensively, McLaughlin tallied 54 tackles (32 solo) and recovered a pair of fumbles.
Avon Grove amassed nearly 4,000 rushing yards last year, averaging 297.3 yards per game on the ground to go along with a solid 34.8 points per game. North Penn ended Avon Grove’s 11-win season, 42-7, in the District 1 “AAAA” semifinals.
