Coaches Q&A with Tom Hetrick:

Q. What are his strengths at running back?

A. He has great vision. He sees things a step ahead of a lot people. He has great acceleration when he sees where he wants to go. He has a great ability to get there.

He has such a long stride that people think they have an angle on him and they don’t. He’s deceptively fast and he’s a very strong kid.

He has no problem lowering his shoulder and driving his leg forward. He’s the whole package.

He can run fast and can catch the ball. This year he will play some receiver and look for some mismatches.

Q. How’s he as a kick returner?

A. He’s been a kick returner since his sophomore year. Most of the time teams don’t kick to him. He’s returned a couple of kicks and punts in his career.

When he gets in open space he makes plays.

Q. Final thoughts on Josh?

A. He has been working hard and has a great work ethic. He’s a great kid and a kid you root for. He’s a special football player.
