Coaches Q&A with Aaron Brady:

Q. What are his strengths at quarterback?

A. He has a strong arm and can make all the throws. Last year he was in a wing-t offense and this year we’re going to showcase him more. He’s an athletic kid and he can run.

He’s a very special kid and it will be fun to watch him run our offense this year.

This year we’re going to run him a little bit more in our offense and do zone read stuff. That gives him the ability to pull it down and run it or try and get him on the edge a little bit more.

Q. Will he play any defense for you this year?

A. He may play some safety for us in certain spots. He’s so athletic he can make plays out there.

When he’s out there his strength is just playing the ball.

Q. Final thoughts on Alex?

A. He’s a student of the game and he’s the type of kid you have to kick out of your office. He’s a gym rat.

One of the greatest things about Alex this year is, he started having team workouts. He led those workouts and he told kids to get there and set everything up. That shows he’s a leader on our team and the kids look up to him.

He’s very smart and wants to learn and get better.
