Coaches Q&A with Joe Henrich:

Q. What are his strengths as a running back?

A. Michael is a real good down hill runner. He has really good side step and jump step and moves well laterally and get’s back up field. He likes to make a cut and take off. He has good speed too and has broken off some big plays for us last year.

His goal this year is to be a little more physical and break more tackles.

We like to put him in the slot. He has good hands.

Q. How is he as a kick returner?

A. He does a good job at kick returning. He has good vision and makes plays. He doesn’t dance around back there and is a north/south runner.

Q. Does he play defense for you?

A. He’s competing to play at free safety on defense. He’s a big kid, 200-pounds at safety is pretty darn good. He has great closing speed. He has the ability to cover a lot of ground on defense. Having a guy that can run left or right and be able to track people down is great.
