Small School Player of the Year: Jeremiah Young, Steelton-Highspire HS
Jeremiah Young is one-of-a-kind. That’s saying it in a few words. After seeing this guy carve through defense after defense, you just run out of superlatives. Fresh off a sophomore campaign which saw him run for 27 touchdowns, Young topped that performance with a mind-boggling 3,344 yards and 41 TDs in 2007. He averaged 209 rushing yards per game, and had 7 touchdown runs of 50 yards or more in the playoffs. Young, who has run for 6,215 career yards, also broke Henry Hynoski’s rushing yards record for the Class “A” title game with 292, and the individual points record with 28.
