Tim Moncman, Bethlehem Liberty High School

If one were to predict the outcome of Liberty’s 2008 high school football season based on the first half of the Hurricanes’ Week 1 game with North Penn, the thoughts of even reaching the state title game seemed remote.  But Liberty, facing the prospects of an 0-2 season start against defending PIAA finalist Parkland, proceeded to down the Trojans and reel off 15 consecutive victories, including the school’s first ever PIAA football championship over Bethel Park.  Coach Moncman has won 82 games in his career, and has turned the Liberty football program from a Lehigh Valley team that everyone tried to schedule for their homecoming games to a state championship contender.  Moncman helped coach Liberty to its fourth District 11 championship in his tenure and a fifth straight season of 10 wins or more.  Since the start of 2004, Moncman boasts a record of 62-9.

Very good coach who has hired what seems a very good staff and is making the most of the athletes in his school. The athletes were there before would be my guess but this guy has the ability to get the kids to reach theirs!
